GlycoLax™ (
polyethylene glycol 3350) is a nonprescription laxative medication used to treat occasional
constipation. Like other polyethylene glycol 3350 (
PEG-3350) products, GlycoLax was originally available by prescription only. Some PEG-3350 products are still available by prescription only. These medications are exactly the same as the over-the-counter (OTC) versions, but are more likely to be covered by insurance.
Although GlycoLax is no longer manufactured, several different generic forms are still available.
Who Makes This Medication?
The nonprescription version of GlycoLax was made by Kremers Urban, LLC.
GlycoLax belongs to a group of medications called osmotic laxatives. These products work by drawing water into the
colon, softening the stool, and increasing the number of bowel movements. GlycoLax will usually cause a bowel movement in one to three days.
