It is possible that polyethylene glycol 3350 side effects may occur, but they are generally mild and easy to treat. Some of the most common reactions can include nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal (stomach) bloating. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience rectal bleeding, excessive cramping, or difficulty breathing while taking this laxative.

Just like any medicine, polyethylene glycol 3350 (MiraLAX®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. Serious Polyethylene Glycol 3350 Side Effects

Some side effects of polyethylene glycol 3350 are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling, especially of the mouth, lips, or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
